STAYING STRONG IN CHALLENGING TIMES –
Resilience, Perseverance and Constructive Ways of Dealing with Setbacks

Vocational training does not always go according to plan. Difficult situations, criticism, mistakes, pressure or uncertainty can quickly affect motivation and self-confidence.

In this workshop, apprentices explore what helps people remain capable of acting during challenging times and recover from setbacks.

How Does the Company Benefit?

Apprentices learn to deal more constructively with pressure, setbacks and unexpected difficulties.

They become better able to reflect on challenging situations, seek support and identify realistic options for action.

This strengthens perseverance, personal responsibility and the ability to remain engaged during demanding phases of vocational training.

What Makes This Workshop Different

The workshop does not suggest that people simply need to think positively or become tougher.

Resilience is presented as a combination of supportive relationships, constructive thinking, personal meaning, self-care, practical action and perseverance.

The content draws on current psychological research as well as realistic situations from vocational training and working life.

What Apprentices Appreciate About This Workshop

Apprentices can reflect on challenges without being required to disclose personal experiences.

They discover that setbacks, uncertainty and difficult phases are not signs of personal failure and that resilience can be strengthened over time.

Stories, practical exercises and changes of perspective make the content accessible and help participants identify strategies that fit their own lives.

International Perspective

Ways of dealing with pressure, asking for support and expressing difficulties are influenced by culture, social expectations and organisational environments.

The workshop can therefore be adapted to the cultural and professional context of the participants.

For international groups, it can also explore the challenges of adapting to a new country, workplace culture or vocational education system and help participants develop strategies for dealing with uncertainty and change.
